The Campus Features section provides an overview of new administrative permissions and settings available within the LMS, that can help streamline user management, learning assignment, and customization for a cohesive user experience. Each feature includes a unique function that can be used to enhance learner profiles, control permissions, and visualize learner progress across locations.
1. Disable Edit Properties
Purpose: This feature enables administrators to lock specific fields within the learner’s profile to maintain data consistency and avoid accidental modifications after profile creation.
- Functionality: Once enabled, locked fields cannot be edited by managers. Attempting to do so will display a “no access” symbol over the restricted fields.
- Use Case: This feature is especially beneficial when the LMS is synced with an external vendor system. Locking fields helps keep learner data consistent across both systems.
- Additional Benefits: For campuses with manually entered users, this function can secure auto-generated login IDs and passwords to ensure alignment between LMS and vendor data sources.
2. Additional Skill Positions
Purpose: Allows learners to hold multiple skill positions, a common need in locations where employees work across different roles.
- Functionality: By enabling additional skill positions, the LMS can auto-assign learning programs based on all applicable roles for a learner, not just their primary role.
- Dashboard Usage: When the dashboard’s sorting feature is used, the system defaults to showing the learner’s primary skill position, but additional skill positions are still tracked.
- Vendor Integration: If your LMS receives data from an external vendor, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for guidance on enabling additional skill position fields.
3. Disable Add Employee
Purpose: Controls where in the campus hierarchy employees can be manually added, allowing greater flexibility in data management.
- Functionality: This feature enables admins to disable manual employee additions in sections with an automated data feed while allowing manual entry in other parts of the hierarchy (e.g., franchises).
- Example: If a location is vendor-populated (e.g., South Nashville), the “Add Employee” option can be disabled, whereas franchise locations (e.g., Peachtree Atlanta) may retain this option for manual additions.
4. Career Paths
Purpose: Displays potential career growth opportunities, linking training programs to career progression.
- Functionality: Learners can view their progress in career paths through the “Trophy Case,” which highlights completed training ribbons in color. Unassigned skills remain gray, indicating growth opportunities.
- Benefits: By viewing their career path, learners gain insight into skill development required for potential promotions or certifications.
5. Knowledge Score
Purpose: Offers a quantitative view of learner training volume and complexity, helping track both individual and location-wide knowledge levels.
-
Display Options:
- Off: No knowledge score is shown anywhere in the LMS.
- Employee Record Only: Visible in the employee’s profile and to managers.
- Show Knowledge Score: Visible on dashboards and the employee profile, with additional sorting options available.
- Location Knowledge Score: Provides an average knowledge score per location, viewable to managers and multi-unit operators.
-
Grace Period for New Hires: New hires can be excluded from location knowledge scores during their initial training period. Once they meet the designated training duration, they are included in the location’s average score.
6. Top Bar Color
Purpose: Customizes the top bar color across the LMS to match the organization’s branding or create a unified visual identity.
- Functionality: This color, defined by a hex code, appears across dashboards, learner “MyTraining” pages, and mobile apps, creating a cohesive look across platforms.
- Visibility: The top bar color can significantly affect the LMS's appearance, reinforcing brand identity and enhancing user experience.
7. Message Center Panel
Purpose: Provides social connectivity within the LMS by notifying learners of coworker anniversaries and birthdays, as well as displaying important messages from admins.
-
Anniversary and Birthday Notifications: When activated, learners will see a notification for any coworker celebrating a birthday or work anniversary on that day. This appears on the left side of the “MyTraining” page, where learners can easily send celebratory messages to colleagues.
-
Message Center Notifications: Admins can enable message notifications, displaying the first line of any new message on the “MyTraining” panel’s left side. This makes important announcements or updates readily visible to learners.
-
Message Retention Settings: The “keep messages for” dropdown allows admins to specify how long messages should remain visible if unopened, providing control over message retention within the LMS.
Each of these features allows administrators to create a more structured, visually consistent, and effective learning environment, aligned with the organization’s operational requirements and branding. For detailed guidance, please refer to the Loom videos within each section.
