Why are we getting an "Algorithm negotiation fail" error in our FTP Log?
As part of our continuous process to stay up to date from a security perspective, in version 11 of our application, we removed support from some deprecated identity algorithms, such as SSH-RSA, SSH-DSS, or x509v3-SIGN-RSA. These algorithms would be utilized on the vendor's FTP and will need to be updated to a supported identity algorithm.
Crunchtime can depend on these identity algorithms moving forward:
- ssh-ed25519
- ecdsa-sha2-nistp256
- ecdsa-sha2-nistp384
- ecdsa-sha2-nistp521
- rsa-sha2-512
- rsa-sha2-256
We would advise relaying the above to the vendors you have provided. Until they have updated their Identity Algorithms, you will need to transmit orders via a different method (e.g., Email).
