Why are some products showing a Negative On-Hand Quantity despite entering a positive Inventory Count?
Net-Chef will use the Closing Method defined in the Enterprise Manager's Storage Locations to determine the value populated by "By Exception" in Net-Chef Inventory. However, any Inactive Storage Location/Product record (shown in Net-Chef's Inventory Setup) will ALWAYS use Book Value for the "By Exception" quantity.
If you view the inventory screen "Summarized by Product," Net-Chef combines the quantities for all storage locations in which the product is stored. If you uncheck the 'Summarize by Product' box, you can see a clearer picture of what counts are entered in each Storage Location. There is likely a negative count stored in an inactive Storage Location.
Ideally, there would always be a quantity of product in active storage. To remove these unwanted negative counts, you can make the inactive Storage Location active again and, on the next Final For Post Inventory, enter a zero count for those records in that storage. Once that inventory is complete (Posted), you can make them inactive again.
