Does Crunchtime allow the change of Dayparts?
Yes, you can change your Dayparts after setting them up. However, there are some things you should be aware of:
- If you are just changing the hours or adding more Dayparts, you should expect minimal downstream effects, primarily minor anomalies in consumption for the initial periods.
Tip: To keep Consumption calculations in line during testing, you may need to adjust the Location's Suggested Order, such as transitioning from one week to two weeks to three weeks until you hit the number you are looking for. Also, we don't recommend using any Historical Periods in the Suggested Order setup.
- Editing your Dayparts so that your Business Day Begins at (BDBA) in the middle of a Daypart is known to cause issues with Tip Pool, Ideal Hours, and Earned Hours.
- Removing Dayparts would necessitate a crunchtime Support request to align expectations and explore mitigation strategies. This is partly due to the potential impact on various tables, which requires careful consideration.
Note: This is by no means a complete list of potential differences, and any changes to your Dayparts will inherently come with minor anomalies that should diminish over time. Testing should be done in your Test Environment to validate functionality.
