Campus Structure: Campus, Sub-Campuses, Groups & Locations
Understanding a few terms and concepts will help you get the most out of your CrunchTime! TalentLink experience. This isn't meant to tell you everything you need to know about hierarchy and creating and managing content but instead to give you a framework for understanding the basics of hierarchy and how it impacts content management.
Campus
Your entire account is considered a campus. A campus can have one brand, or it can have many brands.
At the campus level, you can:
-
Create a custom login page and display custom logos and custom colors
-
Create content that can be used, but not changed, at all lower levels
A campus can have sub-campuses, groups of locations, or single locations under it.
Sub-Campus
A sub-campus is a group of locations that operate almost like a primary campus. At the sub-campus level, you inherit attributes from the campus level that stay in place unless you change them.
At the sub-campus level, you can:
-
Create a custom login page and display custom logos and custom colors – or — use the login page, logos, and colors inherited from the primary campus
-
Customize store types, roles, skill positions, and permissions
-
Create content to be used at lower levels in the sub-campus – and – use content created at the campus level
A sub-campus can have groups of locations or single locations under it. A sub-campus is always under a primary campus.
Your Client Services team will create sub-campuses for you.
Group
A group is a free-form collection of locations. You can choose to make groups by store type, by geography, by reporting structure, or anything else that fits your business needs.
You cannot create content or a custom login page at the group level, but you can have a custom interior logo.
A group can have other groups or single locations under it. A group can fall under a primary campus, a sub-campus, or another group, inheriting attributes from directly above.
Users with Manage Hierarchy permissions can create groups and locations.
Location
- A location is a single restaurant that is not in a group with any other restaurant.
- You cannot create content at the location level.
- A location does not have anything under it in the hierarchy. A location can fall under a primary campus, a sub campus, or a group and it inherits attributes from directly above.
- Users with Manage Hierarchy permissions can create locations.
