When does a "Location Product deactivation" occur?
Posting Inventory is the action that deactivates a Location Product.
Location Product records can only be deactivated; there is no way to delete a Location Product
A User cannot manually deactivate Location Products in the application. A Location The product remains active as long as there is a quantity in the location’s inventory and the product is included in transactions. If the On-Hand Quantity reaches zero and stays at zero, AND the product is not purchased, issued, or transferred for a designated number of Post Periods, then the Location Product will become inactive.
Below is where you will find the preference that determines the designated number of post periods:
- Deactivated Storage Sequence records in the Net-Chef Inventory Setup Screen will remove the record from the Data Entry Screen but should still appear on the Inventory View/Review Screens. Only after the Locations Product record is deactivated will it be removed from the View and Review Screens.
- Selecting the Active box in the Net-Chef Inventory Setup allows a Product with no quantity on hand to be removed from the Inventory Count Sheet but not from the Vendor Order screen.
- To stop the reordering of Company Products, try deactivating them. This will prevent locations from ordering from vendors. How do I deactivate a Company Product, and what does that mean?
- Users can also turn off the ability to enter COs and transfer between locations.
