Zenput policy for Mobile OS, Web Browser, Hardware partners, and Device support

Zenput applications support the most recent major releases of the following web browsers and desktop/mobile operating systems(OS). Zenput provides this Standard End of Life (EOL) policy for browsers and OS for transparency. Zenput reserves the right to make exceptions from this policy (Examples: if conflicts arise or for security reasons).

We recommend keeping all Zenput Mobile applications (iOS, Android, Windows) on the most recent available version at all times. If you run into issues with an older version, there may be fixes in the new version that could solve the problem. Our support team will recommend this as a first step during the support process if you have not updated it. (If you are using MDM on your devices, users will need to be able to uninstall and reinstall the app for troubleshooting purposes if their application is not on the latest version.)

Supported Mobile OS

Zenput will support all new versions of supported OS's 30 days after their release

Android	Android Oreo/8 Android Pie/9 Android 10 Android 11 Android 12 Android 13 Android 14 NO Zenput applications are available/supported on Chromebooks, Amazon Kindle/Fire Devices, or devices running Harmony OS	Zenput will fully support the 7 most recent major versions of Android.
Apple	iOS 14/ iPadOS 14*  iOS 15 / iPadOS 15 iOS 16 / iPadOS 16 iOS 17/ iPadOS 17 iOS 18/ iPadOS 18	Zenput will fully support the 3 most recent major versions of iOS.
Windows	Windows 10 or newer ⛔️ Windows 10 v10.0.17134 is no longer supported.  Zenput Labels supports devices that have operating system Windows 10 V.1703 installed or newer. Windows 11	Zenput will fully support any version of Windows that is maintained for Enterprise by Microsoft. We generally adopt Microsoft's own support policy.

Mobile Device Requirements

All devices, mobile phones and tablets must have at least the following requirements for an optimal Zenput experience. 

• Back-facing camera
• Minimum 2 GB RAM
• Minimum 16 GB Storage
• Bluetooth (if using BLE hardware; probes &/or printers)
  • Bluetooth & BLE Temperature integrations are ONLY available for iOS and Android operating systems.

Mobile Application Requirements

Once a year, Zenput deprecates versions of the application that are over 2 years old. After 2 years, the Zenput application will no longer be functional until you update the Zenput application and/or OS in order to update to the latest version of the Zenput application. 

Fully Supported (0-3 months): Zenput applications are fully supported and expected to operate normally outside of bug fix updates.

Soft Deprecation(3-18 months): Zenput applications are supported but may begin experiencing issues, updating the app to the latest version is highly recommended. 

Deprecated (18-23 months): Zenput applications will continue to work for up to 6 months, from the oldest version, from the most recent release date. 

Fully Unsupported(24 months +): Zenput applications will not work or open until the application is updated.

Supported Web Browsers

Zenput will support all new versions of supported browsers no later than 7 days after their release.

Zenput will support any browser that is within the last 2 releases.

Internet Explorer is NOT a supported browser. Please use another supported browser from the list below.

• Microsoft Edge - The two latest released versions.
• Safari - The two latest released versions on iOS & iPadOS.
• Firefox - The two latest released versions.
  • Note: the latest Firefox ESR release is always supported
• Chrome - The two latest released versions.

Operational Requirements & Tradeoffs

Zenput’s mobile application is deployed by you for your authorized employees to use, on devices that you own and manage. Due to this deployment model, Zenput makes several functionality tradeoffs so that you can best manage your deployment.

Zenput expects you to follow industry best practices including managing devices with MDM software, and we provide this document to help you make decisions about operational considerations when running Zenput. By not following these recommendations, you are taking on risk and Zenput disclaims any liability with respect to any damage resulting from your decisions.

We recommend that you:

1. Ensure devices running Zenput mobile applications are managed using MDM software and generally follow industry best practices.

2. Ensure operating systems and software on mobile devices are kept up-to-date to the most recent version available.

3. Ensure devices running Zenput mobile applications are not rooted or jailbroken.

   1. This prevents malicious software from running alongside Zenput, and protects the safety of Zenput data stored/cached locally.

      1. You may have business reasons to allow rooted/jailbroken devices to run Zenput.

4. Ensure that backups including Zenput application data are appropriately protected or blocked.

   1. This prevents any PII or company confidential data that a customer has added to Zenput from being compromised.

      1. You may have business reasons to allow or share backups, including Zenput application data.

5. Ensure safety of application screenshots (including fast-app-switcher).

   1. This prevents any PII or company confidential data that a customer has added to Zenput from being disclosed.

      1. You may have business reasons to allow or share screenshots, including of Zenput application data.

6. Ensure only appropriate SSL certificates are trusted on devices, potentially by using certificate pinning.

   1. This prevents any network traffic between Zenput’s mobile application and Zenput’s servers from being intercepted/observed/tampered with by any unauthorized third parties.

      1. You may have business reasons to allow network traffic to be intercepted for internal purposes.

7. Ensure devices are using an appropriate proxy/firewall/allowlist/block list to only access trusted applications which for Zenput are defined on IP & DNS Addresses

   1. This prevents applications on mobile devices from sending data to arbitrary internet locations.

      1. You may have business reasons to not implement these types of controls.

8. Limit access to mobile devices and the Zenput application itself to authorized users.

   1. This prevents unauthorized users from accessing PII or Company Confidential data.

      1. You may have business reasons to allow different users to access Zenput in different ways.
