How do I delete a ConneX Installation for a Closed Location?
When Crunchtime software is installed, it does the following:
- Creates a directory under Program Files (x86) named CrunchTime! Information Systems, Inc
- Updates registry settings at "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\CrunchTime! Information Systems, Inc." which contain the registry values for running Crunchtime software
- Creates Service entry for CrunchTime Connex Client
When the software is installed, an activation token (provided by Crunchtime) is required to connect the local on-premise installation with the appropriate entry in the Connex MySQL database.
When the local software is to be uninstalled, we have to remove the actions performed above. Our software can be uninstalled using the standard uninstall methods—this is most easily performed by opening the control panel, selecting Programs and Features, right-clicking on the Crunchtime entry, and choosing to uninstall. When performed, this will result in the Crunchtime software being removed from the computer.
After the uninstall is completed, the following should be verified:
- Check the Services list (run services.msi) and validate Crunchtime is no longer shown on the list of services
- Check the registry settings (run regedit.exe) and validate the Crunchtime registry group has been removed
- Check the Program Files directory and validate the Crunchtime directory has been removed
If the above actions have not been performed, manually remove them as appropriate.
Once the local installation has been removed, contact CrunchTime Support for ConneX to decommission the Location.
